What’s The Biggest Lie in Weight Loss?

It’s a $60 Billion a year industry built on a lie.

What is it?

Quite simply:  watching your weight.

Weight is not a useful number by itself.  It contains no information we can use to make a change.

What is a useful number? Actually, there are 2, and together they compose your Body Composition:  Lean Body Mass Percentage and Fat Percentage.

The lower the body fat and higher the lean mass, the better off you are.

Here’s how these numbers can work. Say you weigh 150 pounds and are 38% body fat. Those numbers together tell me you are carrying 57 pounds of fat and 93 pounds of lean mass.  If we burn 10 pounds of fat and add 5 pounds of lean mass (which you want to do to increase your metabolism), you will have changed by 10 pounds, but the scale will say you “lost” 5 pounds!  You will have dropped a pant size, but you would not have lost anything to brag about according to the scale.

If you only chase that weight number, and sacrifice lean mass (which is what most diets are designed to do), you will drop “weight,” but also damage your metabolism, especially your thyroid. You will feel tired, have headaches, maybe not sleep well—and in a short time, you will gain it all back, not as muscle, but as FAT.

There is a better way:  turn your body in to a fat-burning machine!

Our client, Tanya, a busy mortgage broker and mother of 2 under the age of 11, lost 21 pounds of fat in 4 weeks by turning her body into the fat-burning machine it is designed to be.  How?  By learning to eat the right way!  She ate all the food she and her family enjoy plus was able to meet clients for lunch.
