Older Athletes Have a Strikingly Young Fitness Age

That was the heading in a NY Times article on July 1.  It actually says, “Older athletes can be much younger, physically, than they are in real life.”

Athletes were anyone who trains for a sport, so runners, swimmers, triathletes, cyclists, folks playing soccer and lacrosse–all amateurs, none were professionals.

That means if you work out 3-5 times a week, you’re considered an athlete.  Here’s the best part: the difference in physical age averaged 20 years!  That’s why at 60, I feel as good–or better–and am stronger than at 40.
