Here’s some real motivation….

February is Healthy Heart Month!   Right on topic, check out this recently released study using real people–over 300,000 of them:

Research, published in the European Heart Journal, analyzed data from the European Prospective Investigation into Cancer and Nutrition (EPIC) Heart study, and found that people consuming AT LEAST 8 PORTIONS of fruit and vegetables a day have a 22% LOWER RISK OF DYING from ischaemic heart disease (IHD) than those who consuming fewer than three portions a day.

“This study involved over 300,000 people in eight different European countries, with 1,636 deaths from IHD. It shows a 4 percent reduced risk of dying from IHD for each additional portion of fruit and vegetables consumed above the lowest intake of two portions,” said the lead author of the study Dr Francesca Crowe, from the University of Oxford, UK.
